Obituary for H. Gordon Lawrence

LEVANT – H. Gordon Lawrence, 82, died at his home February 18, 2015. He was born December 20, 1932 in Newburgh, son of Norris and Ruth (Young) Lawrence.

Gordon was a U.S. Army veteran and a well-known Master plumber, employed in the construction business for many years. He was a former member of the school board of Hermon and the Rescue Squad. Active in Masonry, Gordon was a member of Lyne Lodge #174 of Hermon, Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Bangor, Maine Consistory 32 , Anah Shriners, Go-Kart Unit, the IOOF Lodge of Hermon and the American Legion Post 200 of Hermon.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Corinne (Harris) Lawrence, are three children, Allen Lawrence and his wife, Mary, Patti Lawrence and Larry, all of Levant and Peggi Palmer and her husband, Scott of Newport; five grandchildren, Melissa, Allen Jr., Todd, Danielle and Dylan; four great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Stella, Charlotte and Max; three sisters, Alice Downing of Levant, Thelma Beath of Winterport and Ravena Hatch of Hampden; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Hunt.

A Masonic funeral service will be conducted 2pm Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor by the Officers and Members of Lyne Lodge of Hermon.
