Bruce Faulkner, 48, of Brewer, Maine died Saturday, August 29, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with complications from non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Bruce was born December 14, 1966, to Reginald and Claudette Faulkner, sharing his birthday with his father. He attended Brewer schools and was a member of the high school's football team, and Husson University where he majored in marketing.

Bruce loved the outdoors, especially at the family cottage on Green Lake, as well as Old Orchard Beach and Pine Point in southern Maine, where he spent every summer of his childhood. He started his sales career traveling in Vermont which was a special place for him, and he loved its beauty and people.

He worked at the company his father founded, R.D. Faulkner Corporation, until his death. Bruce shared his father's passion for sales and filled that role in the company masterfully, winning national recognition from vendors across the world as a top salesperson several times. He had a mechanical mind and understood the inner workings of any computer or machine. He often shared engineering ideas with national outdoor power equipment vendors to perfect the products they manufactured. Eventually, several companies incorporated his ideas into their equipment which are common today.

Bruce lived his life to the fullest. He had a love for airplanes, and all things aeronautical - from modifying model airplanes and rockets as a child for faster and further flight to achieving a lifelong dream of earning his pilot's license as an adult.

Bruce also had an entrepreneurial streak in his DNA, leaving the family business for a short time to open The Metro Club in downtown Bangor, the largest nightclub north of Boston at the time, bringing national bands such as Eddie Money, 38 Special, The Marshall Tucker Band and George Thorogood to Bangor. He also promoted concerts all over northern New England and founded the Blues at Loon Mountain Concert Series which continues today.

Bruce was happiest when surrounded by his family, for whom his devotion was second to none. He was predeceased by his loving mother, Claudette, maternal grandparents, Ralph and Lorraine Loranger, paternal grandparents, Douglas and Helen Faulkner, his aunts Constance Verrier and Sandra Faulkner, and a very influential and special uncle, John Faulkner. Bruce is survived by his father, Reginald of Brewer; sister, Cynthia of Portland; brothers, Brian and David of Holden; a special aunt, Gloria Faulkner of Eddington as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Bruce was a grateful patient of Maine Medical Center's Cardiology Center and the family wishes to thank all of the caring and wonderful providers on the 7th and 9th floors of the Richards Building especially Drs. Lualdi and Corsello and the entire CICU team. He was forever grateful to Dr. Gus Lambrew who changed the course of his care and treatment and prolonged his life for many years.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 3, 2015, St. Paul Apostle Parish, St. John's Catholic Church, 207 York Street, Bangor, followed by a Rite of Committal at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery. Following Committal Prayers, relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor.
