Obituary for Stanley G. Rolfe

HUDSON & BANGOR – Stanley G. Rolfe, 68, died April 20, 2016, at a Robbinston healthcare facility. He was born May 12, 1947, in Bangor, the son of George Clark and Doris (Clewley) Rolfe.

Stan attended schools in Hudson and the East Corinth Academy. Early in his life, he worked around the United States as an Auto Body Technician before returning to Bangor. Stan enjoyed racing stock cars at Speedway 95 in Hermon with his dear brother, Jim. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed his time spent on Lake Wassookeag in Dexter.

In addition to his parents, Stan was predeceased by his step-father, Harold Rolfe; a sister, Jean Lishon; and a brother, Harold “Terry” Rolfe. Surviving are a daughter, Angela Rolfe, and a son, Jeff Rolfe, both of Flagstaff, AZ; a very special brother, Jim Rolfe of Bangor; a sister, Delores Harriman of Hudson, NH; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2016, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St, Bangor, with the Rev. Bruce Stevens, pastor of the United Baptist Church, Old Town, officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Those who wish to remember Stan in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Robbinston Bridge House, 736 US-1, Robbinston, ME 04671.
