Obituary for Lyle V. Newman

Glenburn – Lyle V. Newman, 85, passed away April 23, 2016 at a Bangor hospital. He was born July 24, 1930, in Lakeview, the son of Ernest and Hazel (Reynolds) Newman.

Lyle joined the Army when he was old enough, and spent nearly nine years serving his country, part of that was spent serving in Korea during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge he went to work at the Naval shipyard in Kittery, spending the next 32 years there as a welder. Lyle enjoyed hunting and fishing, but he also like spending time building bird houses and feeders.

Lyle is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Elizabeth “Betty”, of Glenburn; a son David Newman of Glenburn; daughters Kathy Newman and Barbara Newman, both of Bangor; and a sister Ethlyn Ellis of Glenburn. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Newman.

A graveside service will be held 1p.m., Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Lakeview Cemetery in Glenburn.
