Obituary for Ronald Gerald Moore

Ronald Gerald Moore
ORRINGTON - Ronald G. Moore passed away peacefully at his home on August 15, 2016 surrounded by his family.

He was born on September 7, 1933 the oldest son of Beatrice (Pingree) and George Landery Moore. He attended Bangor High School, until he left to join the Navy, where he proudly served until July of 1954. Upon his return to Bangor, he married Nancy (Mishou) on November 23, 1953 and they went on to raise four children, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren over their 62 years together!

Ron was employed by “Ma Bell” for over 30 years, and he held several positions within the company, but the job he loved, and made into his career was that of lineman. He loved working outdoors and he enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow linemen. These men shared a brotherhood, and like brothers, they loved to pull pranks. Ron had a great sense of humor and was an amazing story teller, so for the rest of his life, his family delighted in the many hilarious stories of his days with the line crew.

Ron was predeceased by his brother, Robert B. Moore, and his sister, Patricia L. Moore. Ron also lost his beloved daughter, Dawna Jean (Moore) Hensley to her battle with cancer in August of 2013.

He is survived by his wife Nancy; one son, Daniel G. Moore and his wife Eileen (Grace) Moore; two daughters, Rhonda Lee Geaghan and her husband Lawrence C. Geaghan, and Kate Leola Moore and her husband Jeff Paul, all of Orrington; seven grandchildren; Thomas Ronald Geaghan and wife Erin of Cleveland Ohio, Andrew James Geaghan and wife Lindsay of Brewer, Chad Daniel Hensley of Bangor, Corrigan Conley Moore of Boston, Jacob Lawrence Moore and wife Sarah of Bangor, Kaila Jean Moore of Portland, and Samuel Robert Moore of Bangor; four great grandchildren, Isaac and Connemara Geaghan of Brewer, and Liam and Maeve Geaghan of Cleveland Ohio; and one nephew, Jonathan K. Moore of Philadelphia.

Ron Moore leaves behind a legacy, not of perfection, but of love and laughter, of kindness, truth and integrity. We, his family, will do our best to carry on together with the values he held dear.

In keeping with Ron's wishes the family will gather privately. Those who wish to remember Ron in a special way, may do something kind for someone in need, or consider a gift to the Lafayette Family Cancer Center, C/O EMHS Foundation P.O. Box 931, Bangor, Maine 04402-0931 in memory of Dawna Jean Moore Hensley. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
