Obituary for Stanley Leroy Huff

St. Albans – Stanley L. Huff, 72, died after a brave and valiant battle with cancer September 13, 2016, at his daughter’s home in Hudson. He was born July 4, 1944, in Hartland, the son of James and Emma (Rowe) Huff.

Shortly after graduating from Harmony High School, Stan received an invitation from Uncle Sam, and he joined the U. S. Army, serving in Germany during the Vietnam War. After serving for 2 years he went to work as a crane operator, a job he loved, and was still involved with right to the end. He was still employed with CPM, a company he spent the last 24 years with. Stan enjoyed fly-fishing and canoeing. He loved spending time with his family. He absolutely adored animals, treating dogs as though they were his grandchildren. He was known to take them to the job site with him occasionally. Stan will be remembered as loving, gentle, kind, a hard worker who was dedicated and well respected. He was especially brave as he battled mandibular cancer.

Stan is survived by 3 daughters, Angela Fortier and husband Alan, Jenny-Lyn Brown and husband Daniel, and Nyla Hicks and husband Jon; grandchildren Anna, Elijah, Elizabeth, Evan, Morgan, Jordan, and Kayla; a great granddaughter Adelynn; and his 2 cats, Brandy and Ziva.
