Obituary for John Francis Holland

John Francis Holland
John F. Holland, 77, passed away November 29, 2016, at a Bangor hospital. He was born January 6, 1939, in Dover, NH, the son of Edward M. and Mildred L. (Carroll) Holland.

John served his country in the U. S. Army. He was a gifted mechanic and could build or fix about anything. John owned and operated Small Engine Repair in Brewer for many years. He worked hard, seven days a week, and until the work was finished. John was the kind of guy who would help anyone in need and who really needed help. He had a great personality and was always joking around – and it was sometimes hard to tell if he was kidding or not.

He is survived by his loving companion of 32 years, Jeannette Robbins; three sisters, Sara Kenna and husband Jim, Sharon Jackson and husband Elwyn, and Patricia Holland; two brothers, Edward Holland and wife Mary, Ronald Holland and wife Donna; his dear cat, Daisy Cat; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son, Michael.

Friends may call from 1-2 PM, Saturday, Dec 3, at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 S. Main Street, Brewer, where funeral services will be held at 2 PM. Interment will be at a later date at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth. Gifts in his memory may be made to CancerCare, C/O EMHS Foundation, P.O. Box 931, Bangor, ME 04402-0931. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
