BRADFORD – Arthur A. Fletcher, 62, passed away March 27, 2017, with his loving family by his side. He was born April 26, 1954, in Bangor, the son of Charles and Barbara (Southard) Fletcher.

Arthur graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1972. He was a hard and dependable worker, enjoying a long career in the shoe industry, where he created many friendships and memories. Arthur enjoyed fishing, camping with family, and going on spontaneous road trips with the love of his life, his wife Donna. He was a quiet man, who took great pride in his family, especially his grandchildren.

Arthur was predeceased by his parents. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 13 years, Donna, are a son, Arthur A. Fletcher II and wife Nicole of Orrington; grandchildren, Garrett and Jacob; a step-son, Richard McClure Jr. and fiancé Sarah Brooks, and their daughter Madelynn, of Bradford; a step-daughter, April Jones and husband Phillip, and their sons Jamie and Brandon, of Orneville; sisters, Rita Harnish and husband George, Barbara Strout, Linda Spencer, and Patsy Stewart; a brother, John Fletcher; and a very large extended family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire staff of the Critical Care Unit of St. Joseph Hospital.

In keeping with Arthur’s wishes, relatives and friends are invited to a gathering 1-3 p.m., Sunday, April 2, 2017, at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor. Those who wish to remember Arthur in a special way may make gifts in his memory to St. Joseph Hospice, 360 Broadway, Bangor, ME 04401.
