Obituary for Rodney Joseph Partridge

Rodney Joseph  Partridge
BANGOR – R. Joseph Partridge, Jr., 72, died unexpectedly from complications of heart disease, April 25, 2017, at a Florida hospital. He was born May 29, 1944, in Rochester, NH, the son of Rodney Partridge, Sr., and Phyllis (Hogan) Partridge.

Joe graduated from Carmel High School, Class of 1962, and attended Husson College. Following graduation, he served with the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam Era. After serving in the military, he married the love of his life, Christine Davis. They raised a family in Bangor and recently celebrated 48 years of marriage.

Joe looked forward to spending winters with his wife in Florida, gardening in his yard, camping with friends and family, and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.

He was predeceased by his father, Rodney Partridge. Surviving in addition to his wife, Christine (Davis) Partridge, and mother, Phyllis Partridge, are his daughter, Tamara Partridge, of Brunswick; Paul Joseph Partridge, and his wife, Kristen, of North Andover, MA; daughter, Jill Partridge, of Brunswick; five grandchildren, Quinn and Daryn Wood, Andrew “AJ”, Cameron and Nolan Partridge; a dear nephew, Doug Smith, and his wife, Ashley; a sister, Carol Ogden, of Haverhill, MA; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, May 1, with Chaplain David Gardiner officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., following the service. Those who wish to remember Joe in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Carmel High School Alumni Association, P.O. Box 11, Carmel, ME 04418.
