Shirley Janet Nadeau, 78, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2017, at a Bangor healthcare facility surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 15, 1938, in Carmel the daughter of Galen R. and Louise G. (Warren) Worcester.

Shirley loved her family dearly and always enjoyed being surrounded by them. She had a certain way with people where they always felt important and that she cared for them. You could call it an infectious personality or a great sense of magnetism of caring to find meaning in someone’s life. Shirley loved ordering food in and sharing it with family and guests. She enjoyed times going to family birthdays and holiday gatherings to catch up with everyone. Shirley made an impact on everybody she met. Her family was her life and she will be dearly missed by them all.

She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Furrow and husband Peter of Dixmont; a son, Alvin Nadeau and wife Joline of Stetson; a sister, Pauline Jenkins of Carmel; four grandchildren, Jason, Anthony, and Brian Furrow, and Michele Nadeau; six great-grandchildren; and many friends.

Friends may gather with the family from 5-7 PM, Wed, June 14, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. A funeral service will be held graveside, 11 AM, Friday, June 16, at Highland Cemetery, Carmel. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
