Clearwater, FL.-Bangor, ME.
Richard L. Kelly, 83, passed away June 20, 2017 in Clearwater, with his daughter, Kathryn at his side. He was born May 16, 1934 in Youngstown, N.Y., son of Thomas and Emma (Drain) Kelly.
Richard graduated from Lincoln Preparatory School, class of 1959. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. After which he married Catherine and moved his family to Maine. They were married for 59 years until her death in 2016.
Richard was a career machinist, working for General Electric in Bangor for 27 years.
He was a member of the masonic lodge and a member of the board of the Village Green.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, a son, Christopher and a brother, Tim.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathryn Johnson and her husband, Geoffrey of Eddington; sons, Michael Kelly and his wife, Judy of Castle Rock, CO, Daniel Kelly and his girlfriend, Brenda , of Wellsville, N.Y., Andrew Kelly and his fiancé, Terrie of Palm Harbor, FL and William Kelly of Palm Harbor, FL.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews ; best friends, Richard and Carol Dittman;
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Brookings-Smith 133 Center St., Bangor. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 1 pm. until time of service. Interment will be in the Kenduskeag Village Cemetery.
