Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Cornelia Russell can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Cornelia Emm Russell

Cornelia Emm (Conquest) Russel, 86, died peacefully on October 11, 2017 after a brief illness.
Cornelia was born March 12, 1931, in Miami Florida to Marie A. (Whitaker) Conquest and Edward James Conquest. She graduated from Oak Grove School for Girls and the University of Maine.
She was a passionate member of the Bangor community, served on numerous boards and was a dedicated volunteer for many local charities.
Cornelia is survived by three sons, Edward C. Russell and his wife, Carolyn, of Winterport, William J. Russell and his wife, Hillary, of Haddam, Connecticut and David L. Russell of Bangor. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Abigail Russell, Adam Russell, Emerald Forcier, Bree Craddock, Caitlin Palmieri and Christopher Russell; three great- grandchildren, Aven Craddock, Rowan Craddock and Eli Palmieri; a sister, Billie Clarke. She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved daughter, Diane Marie Russell.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 5- 7 pm, Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Monday, October 16, 2017 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 234 French Street, Bangor, with Rev. Canon Marguerite A. H. Steadman, Rector, presiding. Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments following the service from 3:30pm-6:00pm at The Tarratine Club, 81 Park Street, Bangor.
