Obituary for Elizabeth Louise Curry (Pooler)

BANGOR – Our beautiful and strong mother and grandmother, Elizabeth “Betty” Louise Curry, 85, died peacefully at home, surrounded by family December 9, 2017. She was born March 20, 1932, in Houlton, the daughter of George and Beatrice (Rancourt) Pooler.

Betty was a very proud graduate of John Bapst High School, class of 1951. She was a Crusaders fan to the end. She had a special bond with her son-in-law, David, because they both graduated from Bapst. She was one of the most selfless and hardworking person you would ever meet, and will be missed eternally. Some of her best times were spent at the lake with her best friend, Dot Wilson. Betty always looked forward to her yearly trips to visit her daughter in Reno. Her son-in-law, Mike would take her to Sierra Sid’s. She also enjoyed visiting the local pawn shops there. One of Betty’s favorite things to do was to watch her grandsons play hockey.

We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Barbara Vereault for her kindness and compassion over the past 4 years.

In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband Grover Curry; son, George; granddaughter Jennifer Curry; sister, Florence; and several brothers and sisters-in-law. She is survived by her five children: Cheryl Curry, Gail Curry Garrow and husband Mike, Gregory Curry and wife Cheryl, Lisa Pardilla and husband David, and Carol Curry; her grandchildren Seth Garrow and wife Tracy, David Pardilla, Jr., Kevin Clark and companion Carrie Theriault, Logan Pardilla and companion, Taylor Bragdon, Kelley Thayer; great granddaughters, Keyla Albert, Lindsey Clark, and Hannah Thayer; great grandson, Zachary Garrow; and great great granddaughter Trinity Easton, whom she considered a special gift from God; as well as special niece, Sue Evans and husband Mike, and their son, Pete and his wife Kris. Betty is also survived by sister-in-law Amber Rioux and several nieces and nephews; and special neighbors, Raymond and Joanne Brown.
