BANGOR – Marie Reta Beckwith, 86 passed away June 8, 2018 at the Bangor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a hard fought battle with dementia. She was born April 29, 1932 in Kenduskeag, the daughter of Blanchard and Leola (Paridis) Ellis.

Marie was a loving mother and Mammy who took great pride in her family. She enjoyed cooking, Sunday NASCAR racing, flowers, feeding the birds and squirrels, but spending time with her family is what she really loved.

In addition to her parents, Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dwight Beckwith who was the love of her life. A son, Mike Beckwith whom she missed dearly. Brothers, Harold Ellis, Stephen Ellis and Lee Ellis. Sisters, Norma Whitney, Blanche Petterson and Annie Smith. Marie leaves behind a Sister, Rena Smart of Corinth.

She is survived by her children, Debra Allen of Kenduskeag, Diane Wickett of Bangor, and Mac Beckwith and his wife, Amanda of LaGrange; grandchildren, Rachel Spearin and husband Nick of Kenduskeag, Kristin Beckwith of Venice FL, and Caroline Snider of LaGrange; great grandchildren, Brett Staples of Kenduskeag, and Tanner Moore of Venice FL; great-great granddaughter, Kya Pelkey of Kenduskeag and Daughter in law, Lori Paull of Venice FL. She also leaves behind a special friend, Armond and her favorite Cat, Harry. Those who knew Marie will miss her wonderful laugh and warm hugs.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bangor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care, love and compassion shown to Marie, they were like a second family.

Services will be private for the family.
