Obituary for Carl O Blanchard, Jr.

Carl O Blanchard, Jr.
Carl Blanchard
Bradford
Carl Blanchard, 89, died peacefully August 13, 2018 at home surrounded by the love of family. He was born in Oakland, April 5, 1929, son of Carl Sr. and Elsie Blanchard.
Carl served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War attaining the rank of corporal. He retired from Maine Central Railroad. Carl was a member of the Whitcomb Baker VFW Post 4633 Hampden.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, clamming and working in his garden. He also followed proudly his children and grandchildren at their sporting events from t-ball to college sports. Most of all he loved being at home, “Shady Rest,” with his family and friends. His joy came from his grandchildren and he spent many a day throwing a ball up on the roof or sitting in his lawn chair watching a mean game of “off the wall” wiffle-ball. His eyes just lit up when he saw his great grandchildren. To his grandchildren, “Gramps” was the best!
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Barbara (Tribou) Blanchard; children Karen and Bob Haskins of Brockton, MA., Valarie and Dave Kane of Bradford, Scott and Sherry Blanchard of Corinth; grandchildren Bobby, Billy, Joey, Danny, Jack and Samantha and their families Allison, Erin, Nicole, Rachel and Danial; great grandchildren David, Abigail, Gunner, Chase and Myles; brother Irvin; sister Florence Stockwell; special friends Sherrill DeLaite, Sonny Bubier, Barry Hersey, Tim Bubar and Sid Bubar.
He was predeceased by his parents, parents- in-law Guy and Anna Tribou; brothers Clarence, Fred, George, David; grandson Eric; and close friends Sarah and Haddy Dickson
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Ritter, Kelly and the rest of his staff for the wonderful care and friendship over the years.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday August 19, 2018 at Evergreen Cemetery, Summer
