Obituary for Jane S. Knight (Burns)

Jane S. Knight, 93, passed away on September 6, 2018, in Bangor. She was born December 23, 1924 in Old Town Maine, the daughter of Frederick A. and June (Scott) Burns of Old Town.
Jane graduated from Old Town High School and enjoyed gardening, reading, family and friends. She was a docent at the Bangor Historical Society, a member of the Athena Club and St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary. Jane and her husband Frank owned and operated Fairmont Market and worked together serving their customers. She was a member of St. Paul’s the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Church Bangor, Maine.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Frank Knight in 2004; a son Frederick P. Knight; sisters, Gladys McCullen, Margaret Sinclair of Pittsfield and Mary Burns of Brewer. She is survived by her sister Francis P. Keeran and her husband Henry of Holden; a brother Frederick A. Burns and his wife Dorothy of Fayetteville, North Carolina; a nephew Patrick M. Keeran and his wife Tess of Beaver Cove; one grandson Matthew Knight and two great grandchildren Caleb and Carson Knight.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, Sept. 12, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 768 Ohio Street, Bangor. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
