Ralph “Eddie” E Porter, Sr.

Newburgh – Ralph “Eddie” E. Porter, Sr., 73, passed away peacefully June 19, 2010 at a Bangor hospital. Ralph was born in Hampden April 19, 1937 to Ronald F. and Inez E. (Barnes) Porter.

Ralph served his country in U.S. Navy before going to work as a Type Setter for the Bangor Daily News for 30 plus years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, flying, rebuilding air planes, stock car racing, and motorcycling. He will be dearly missed and loved by all.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Betty A. (Henderson) Porter of Carmel children, Matthew and wife Karen of Winterport, Ralph Jr. “JR” and wife Amy of Carmel, and Tammy Sanders of Lake City, FL brothers, Terry, Michael, Newell, Earl, Eric, and Kenneth sisters, Marie, Carleen, Rhonda, Edna, Geneva and Anna Marie an aunt, Dot, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ralph was predeceased by his parents a brother, Douglas a sister, Jeannie an aunt, Eva and uncles, Albert and Carl.

A celebration of Ralph’s life will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Ellingwood’s Corner United Methodist Church, 796 Lebanon Road, Winterport with Pastor Chuck Langbein officiating. Interment will be at Brookside Cemetery, Chapman Road, Newburgh. Memorial contributions in Ralph’s honor may be made to Ellingwood’s Corner United Methodist Church, 796 Lebanon Road, Winterport, ME 04496.
