Winterport – William Norman Whittlesey, II, 56, lost his 12 year battle with cancer October 20, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. William was born in New London, CT November 5, 1954 to William N. and Ruth R. (Johnson) Whittlesey.
William grew up and attended schools in many states across the country before their military family settled in Maine. He worked for Milton Caterpillar in Brewer as a certified heavy equipment mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, carpentry, and gardening, but most of all spending time with his family, particularly holidays. William will be remembered, loved, and missed by everyone who ever came in contact with him and as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
William is survived by the love of his life, his soul mate, and best friend, Margaret A. Whittlesey; daughters, Nicole Davis and husband Thomas, Brittany Whittlesey, all of Winterport, and Megan Christensen and husband Peter of Carmel; his son Travis Whittlesey of Winterport; grandchildren, Ashley, Andrew, Liliana, and Anna; a brother Alan Whittlesey and wife Lynn of Newburgh; a sister, Kathy Lyford and husband Kenny of Frankfort; an aunt, Velma Rogers; and several brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service celebrating William's life will be held 2P.M. Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Avenue, Hampden with Pastor Steve Nute officiating. Family and friends are invited to visit from noon until the time of service at 2 P.M. Interment will be in the family lot at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport.
