Christine “Tina” Dyer

Christine “Tina” (Thibodeau) Dyer, born June 3, 1923, died peacefully August 30, 2015. A 1941 graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic School, she lived her entire life in Orono. Tina was predeceased by her father, George; mother, Christine (Theriault); husband Francis, daughters Sandra and Linda; and 15 siblings.

She is survived by her sons, Danny and wife Rose; Tom and his wife Betsy; grandchildren Cindy, Scott, Lisa, Samantha, Justine, Heather and their spouses and partners; great grandchildren Melissa, James, Kayla, Damian, Cody, Colby, Sophie, Lila, Nelson, Jamar, Tyler, and Destiny; special nephew “Tibby” and his wife Gertrude; several other wonderful nieces and nephews, and her cats Ella and Winky. Tina dedicated her life to her family, and had a hand in raising many children near and far. She loved to knit and crochet (with a Hail Mary for every stitch), making an afghan for each family member and handmade mittens for hundreds. She had a quick wit and a dry sense of humor, which remained with her to the very end.

Relatives and friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Orono Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 72 Main St. A Rite of Committal will be held 11 a.m. Friday September 4, 2015 at Riverside Cemetery, Orono. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the Animal Orphanage, 71 Airport Rd., Old Town, ME. 04468.
