I was one of Bob's teachers years ago at Bangor High. He was truly a gentle, kind and decent young man. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. How do you capture in a single story the warmth in a person's soul? I don't know, but I'll relate one memory I have. Bob had been feeling some pressure in class. He told me that he felt he as falling behind and wanted to make sure he was keeping up. We went over his grades and progress and I showed him that he was doing fine. Bob seemed releived, but not for himself, he was worried that if he wasn't doing well he would have to cut back on working with some other students to teach games to less fortunate kids. This was Bob, a kid who never had a lot himself, but who was concerned that he would not be able to help others as much as he wanted. He put others first and even though I was his teacher, he taught me a lot.
